Who is Niki Raapana? My academic credentials :)

I just learned one of my most passionate and active supporters with whom I have regular contact, was not aware of my position in Thomas Wood's bibliography for his academic studies of the Communitarian Residence Life Movement. The ACL has it's own category heading, and this compilation of my work goes all the way back to my speech at the Libertarian Party Convention in April 2001. This is THE MOST thorough overview of communitarian writers and thinkers in existence. Even if I wasn't included I would highly recommend it as a source for further study. But, in genuine academic spirit, Wood included my many, many contrary papers on the subject. That my ACL topic pages and articles at newswithviews are included is really, now that I think about it again, all the "credibility" I need. Funny that I haven't given it a more prominent position on my websites. Rereading it now and as far as I'm concerned, it's my academic resume.

Regardless of whether you're in favor of or opposed to communitarianism, it is now a proven fact that it cannot be the final perfect, ultimate dialectical synthesis, because it has valid opposition (us). The final synthesis is supposed to be so perfect there arises no antithesis. If the next step is transcendence as Bobby has found, then we are playing a role in the dialectical evolution of Utopia just because we oppose the forced evolution of our society. I'm dazzled by the brilliance of their finding such an effective way of using my opposition to help them win their covert coup. So our inclusion in this biblio is a double edged sword. Scholarly recognition means our antithesis exists, and that means we're already yesterday's news (before most people have heard of it!).

GerTee's Traveling Retail Office

GerTee's new traveling retail coverings:

The interior will be pink linen and teal flowered wall fabrics, top ivory edging with damask tassles. The interior ceiling will be horizontal strips of white, ivory and olive green, draped below the beams. The windows are 345 degrees covered with white tulle netting . The inside window curtains are sheer lightly patterned fabrics and the outside window covers are 3' wide pieces of multicolored waterproof upholstry fabrics, hand tied up to open. Interior walls will be framed in German white lace curtains. It's gonna look like a full size princess room!

I've decided to take the 18' GerTee to Anchorage and rent an outside space for us in a comercial parking lot. Manufacturing will remain in Kenny Lake, but it's time to take a finished gertee to market. This will greatly affect my ACL research time but it could provide us with the funds to take ACL Books to book fairs and print a mass market paperpack edition. This will also be a great chance to get a good gertee tutorial written with lots of new pictures! Then when we start going to the bookfairs we can set up a gertee as our display! ABA 2010!

My initial target customers are summer brides getting married on glaciers and other remote spots. Tim makes beautiful diamond willow 4 poster beds which could be draped in lace and on display in another new big 20 footer. My new fur blanket will drape the white lace bedcovers. Thinking I may be able to convince a furniture dealer to borrow some fine pieces for the upgraded guest room/honeymoon suite display unit. If I have wood and tile flooring and nice furnishings it'll be an easier sell to people who have money. Selling to the rich means I'll have a way to get the information to the poor, who can't afford it but need it the most. I could host building seminars right there on the days I close, and maybe even get a write up in the paper.

I've always been able to to visualize how gorgeous gertee could be decorated, but I've never had the fabrics to prove it. Thanks to all the Idiatord ebay buyers I now have a nice selection to work with. I'm not going to bother wasting my time convincing Alaskan men gertees are safe and affordable housing anymore. I'm going to target women, most of whom could care less how it stands up. Women adore the skylight and how welcoming it feels to walk into a round room. Men walk in and scornfully sneer about it falling down or not being warm enough for winter. Women walk in and swoon and exclaim, "Ohhhh, it's soooooo cute!" Who would you rather sell to?

And the final touch will be me wearing one of my Indian belly dancer veils to hide my gaping smile. If I wear the pink one, I'll match the room! After all, I am the Alaskan Tent Lady, hehe.

The Power and Perversions of Law By Berit Kjos - March 27, 2009

Berit Kjos is a Christian minister, and there are Christians outside the "Christian community" who mistrust her motives because of some of her associations. My personal experiences with Kjos have been positive and I also like her style of research and writing. This repost is not meant to endorse Kjos (and everything she reprints of ours she adds a footnote that she doesn't endorse ACL conclusions either :). But she does understand communitarianism and includes it in her summaries of the 3rd Way and Hegel. Even if it is her intention to mislead her flock, she's exposing a critical element of the plan to those capable of doing their own investigations. I'm hoping Part II of this article will delve more deeply into UN-EU Communitarian Aquis. I tried to resize the name Stephen Gallo but I can't seem to make it smaller. That's funny, because I was unfamiliar with that name and yet now I know it! I am still working on my communitarian law article and expanding it to include Klaus, the Irish referendum, and the Lisbon Treaty.

"Watching the markets... two interlocking phrases immediately come to mind: Ordo ab Chaos, and Crisis Equals Opportunity. Ordo ab Chaos is a Latin phrase and the motto of the Thirty-Third Degree of Freemasonry.[1] It means, 'Order out of Chaos.'”[2] Carl Teichrib

"Never waste a good crisis." Hillary Clinton [see video]

"...the financial crisis will lead to the creation of a global central bank and a global single currency within 15 years."[3] Stephen Gallo

“Once a nation parts with control of its currency and credit, it matters not who makes that nation’s laws.”[4] W.L. Mackenzie King [former Prime Minister of Canada]

"I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God... and the curse, if you do not obey...." Deuteronomy 11:26-28

During the Nazi occupation of Norway (1939-1945), my father joined the Norwegian resistance movement and was willing to die for his country. But when the post-war years brought creeping socialism, he became increasingly disillusioned. Finally he chose to immigrate to America, which shone like a beacon of freedom and opportunity across Europe's war-torn lands.

Entering the New York Harbor some years later, we gazed in awe at the Statue of Liberty. But even as we ate our first hamburger soon afterwards, America was already changing. Dwight D. Eisenhower, our war-time hero, was now president. John Foster Dulles -- a founding member of the Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) -- was his Secretary of State.

Like most Americans, we had no idea what was happening "behind the scenes." We didn't know that Dulles had been a Trustee of the Rockefeller Foundation -- or that he collaborated with Alger Hiss, an active member of the Communist Party, and had helped draft the preamble to the UN Charter back in 1945.[5]

Nor did we realize that our Secretary of State had chaired a 1942 Federal (later renamed National) Council of Churches conference. In an article titled Conforming the Church to the New Millennium, I summarized the conference report. While Hitler's armies were ravaging Europe, the Council used that devastating crisis as an opportunity to promote its agenda:

  • a world government of delegated powers

  • immediate limitations on national sovereignty

  • a [single] democratically controlled international bank

  • a universal system of money

  • worldwide freedom of immigration

  • even distribution of the world’s natural wealth.[6]

Does that sound familiar? Apparently that last point didn't originate with Obama! Even Time magazine was shocked! Here's its summary of the report:

“Some of the conference’s economic opinions were almost as sensational as the extreme internationalism of its political program. It held that a ‘new order of economic life is both imminent and imperative' – a new order that is sure to come either ‘through voluntary cooperation within the framework of democracy or through explosive political revolution.’”[7]

Considering Alger Hiss' influence within the Council of Churches and friendship with Dulles [See note], it shouldn't surprise us. His Marxist goals fit right into a church establishment already infiltrated with socialist ideology.[8] In spite of his Marxist aims, he served President Roosevelt both in the State Department and as his adviser at the 1945 Yalta Peace Conference, where much of eastern Europe was handed over to Stalin. His leftist ideology may even have prompted his assignment as the Secretary General of the United Nations Charter Conference in 1945 -- and, later, as president of the multimillion dollar Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.[9]

In our UN Chronology, you can follow the hidden threads toward world government. Notice that today's radical "change" simply means that we are nearing the completion of goals set long ago. As President Thomas Jefferson said,

“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms [of government] those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.”[10]

It's true! Unscrupulous leaders have traded the solid guidelines of our Constitution for evolving laws that conform to global standards and human greed. Since the Constitution was written for a nation that valued God's moral guidelines, it crumbled under the pressures of power-hungry globalists, financial transnationalists, and the deceptive promises of pragmatic socialists. They all saw God's unchanging Truth as an obstacle to their success.

To understand this radical shift, let's take a closer look at the three sets of laws that have influenced this nation -- both for good and evil.

1. Our Constitution with its promise of freedom

Whether Christian or not, most of our nation's founders based the Constitution on God's moral law. They knew that freedom to follow God would be essential to future prosperity.

In his 1796 Farewell Address, George Washington exposed the main threats to the authority of the Constitution:

"Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion [i.e. Christianity] and Morality are indispensable supports. ...[V]irtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government."[11]

Washington concluded with warning about the "mischiefs of foreign intrigue," the lure of "imaginary common interest," and the consequences of failure to "prevent our nation from running the course, which has hitherto marked the destiny of nations." In other words, if we don't follow God's ways and guard the foundations of this nation, it will be destroyed -- just like the Roman empire.

2. New evolving laws and global declarations (See Total transformation)

True to socialist ideology, our current administration seems determined to control every aspect of life: speech, beliefs and values, education, food, health care, money, the way we serve God or each other, etc. May we, like the early disciples, have the courage and strength to "obey God rather than men." (Acts 5:29)

Most of us are familiar with the various new bills (omnibus, stimulus, budget, etc.) loaded with earmarks that Obama had promised to purge. Costing taxpayers trillions, they seemed designed to deepen, not resolve, the current financial crisis.

But that apparent fiasco fits the plans of socialist change agents such as Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. They -- like Obama four decades later -- knew how to engineer a crisis that would 'force change through chaos.'[12] Former federal prosecutor James H. Walsh explains their Marxist manipulations:

"Cloward and Piven held that poor people can only advance when society is afraid of them.... Their strategy to create political, financial, and social chaos that would result in revolution blended Alinsky concepts with their more aggressive efforts at bringing about a change in U.S. government. To achieve their revolutionary aims, Cloward and Piven sought to use a cadre of aggressive [community] organizers assisted by friendly news media to force a re-distribution of the nation’s wealth.....

"New York Mayor Rudy Guiliani called the Cloward-Piven Strategy 'an effort at economic sabotage.'.... Cloward and Piven were joined over the years by nouveau billionaires led by George Soros. Through his Democracy Alliance, they funded ACORN.....

"On the horizon are proposed taxes led by the Obama-sponsored Global Poverty Act that would tax every U.S. man, woman, and child $2,500 for a total of $845 billion to help the United Nations eliminate global poverty. The goal remains the same, to redistribute the wealth of the nation."[13]

In other words, social engineering is changing America along with the rest of the world! For example, Obama's Global Poverty Act calls for communitarian partnerships between the --

1. Public sector (government, which writes the laws and sets the standards)

2. Private sector (business, which supplies resources)

3. Social sector (civil society, especially churches, which provide human servers trained in political correctness).

This three-legged system would be governed by globalist elites. Unlike communism, such a communitarian system would allow people to "own" their property, but both ownership and ideology would be governed, assessed and tracked through laws and regulations based on unthinkable global standards aimed at worldwide social solidarity. After all, Obama has agreed to "stepped up US-UN cooperation."[14]

Our old Constitution-based laws are rapidly being replaced by transformational laws that end virtually every freedom that we have treasured. This change fits right into the 67-year-old vision of John Foster Dulles and Alger Hiss. But is this what Americans want? Or are most people too distracted by entertainment and Huxley's "feelies" to notice?

In this new system, "We, the people" of America will no longer count. Our government -- elected to serve us -- will become our 'masters.' Ashley Mote (an independent member of the European Parliament) shows us what happened in Europe, the model for the other planned "regions" under the UN:

"Even the EU's public face - the unelected commission - is part of the charade. Power does not lie with them. It lies with the senior staff running their departments.... We do not know what their budgets are, how they are financed, or who approves their costs. Indeed, we do not even know what powers they have been given, nor by whom.... The other 24 commissioners, each appointed by the other member states... are figure-heads. They take the flak in the public arena, and make announcements decided for them by their senior staff, with the guidance of the secret committees....

"The European Parliament sits below this vast superstructure... designed to create an illusion of accountable democracy. A condescending pat on the head for voters held in contempt.... In effect, the left has said to the multinationals: you can have your markets stitched up for you, if we can indulge ourselves in endless social engineering. Big business has agreed. The result is a largely supportive parliament both from the left and right of the political divide. The 'Americas' is moving in the same direction!"[16]

3. God's holy unchanging law and judgments

The old Christianized Europe leads the way. Rejecting its Christian foundations, it has filled its spiritual vacuum with forces far greater than it can control without total repression. Ponder this recent example:

"A few years ago, the left-wing London Guardian newspaper called Sweden the most successful society the world has ever known. But Sweden today is being rocked by a large influx of Muslim immigrants.... Wide-open immigration policies... have made Malmo, which is now one-quarter Muslim, one of the most racially divided cities in Europe. Most Muslim immigrants are concentrated in one district, where the male unemployment rate is 82 percent. Crime affects one of three families in the city and rape has tripled in 20 years.... In one housing project in the district, fire and emergency workers will no longer enter without police protection.

"Malmo has been so accommodating toward immigrant Muslims that a local Muslim politician and imam has even declared, 'The best Islamic state is Sweden!'... Right-wing Swedish Democrats, who support limits on immigration, have been stigmatized by the left-wing Swedish media as fascist and bigoted.... 'I think the best prediction is that Sweden will have a Muslim majority by 2049, so we know where that country’s going.”[17]

America is marching to the same tune -- right into the embrace of the planned world government.

While most Americans still call themselves Christian, few can define the gospel or explain the holy character of the God they claim to know. Churches have replaced Biblical Truth with energizing entertainment, and Biblically illiterate members are being trained to follow group consensus, not the Word and ways of our sovereign God.

At a time such as this, we ought to "tremble at His Word" and fall on our faces before Him! For unlike us, our mighty Lord doesn't change! His laws are operational as well as eternal. The world can ignore them, but it can't escape the consequences. As He told us through Moses over three thousand years ago:

"...when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them... your heart is lifted up and you forget the Lord your God. ... you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’
"...if you by any means forget the Lord your God, and follow other gods... you shall surely perish. As the nations which the Lord destroys before you, so you shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the Lord your God." Deuteronomy 8:10-20

Demonstrating a patience that far exceeds mine, he told His beloved Israel, “'In returning and rest you shall be saved. But you would not." The rebellious people refused his gracious invitation. (Isaiah 30:15) So has most of the Western world.

Today that call still rings out: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." (Matthew 11:28) What will we answer?

"I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved." Psalm 16:8

What it means to be a Christian

Note concerning Alger Hiss: "Mr. Dulles recommended Mr. Hiss to head the multimillion dollar Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Mr. Dulles worked side by side with Mr. Hiss in the State Department and in the various conferences that planned the United Nations. But how many American church people knew that Mr. Dulles and Mr. Hiss worked together in The Federal Council of Churches and that both were chairmen of important committees of the Council?" Who Is Arming the Mexican Drug Cartels? by Michael Gaddy

Who Is Arming the Mexican Drug Cartels?

by Michael Gaddy
by Michael Gaddy

The state, Mexican authorities and their US propaganda arm, known in most circles as the Mainstream Media, have recently embarked on a huge disinformation campaign to demonize the American gun owner as the supplier of weapons to the Mexican drug cartels. Everyone in the media, with the possible exception of Lou Dobbs, has joined in the campaign of lies.

Shown here, on a CBS special, is video proof of the lies and disinformation by CBS, US and Mexican authorities. Anderson Cooper and Janet Napolitano are either ignorant or complicit in the myth that M-203s, RPGs and hand grenades are readily available to the American gun consumer. Most intelligent folks, and those without a state sponsored agenda, realize these weapons are usually only available to the military.

This week, Secretary of Homeland Defense, Janet Napolitano, announced a new plan to curb the alleged flow of weapons from the US into Mexico. This program, which will cost the overwhelmed US Taxpayer another 700 million dollars plus, includes machines that employ what is referred to as "virtual strip search." This plan will supposedly slow down the number of guns traveling south from the US to the drug cartels in Mexico. If this program has the same success rate as the government’s efforts at stopping the flow of contraband north into the US, the Mexican drug cartels will have nuclear weapons by the end of April!

While not stated as such, I am sure this will eventually morph into "the war on guns." Funny, is it not, every time our government "declares war" on something, it always increases exponentially! Whether it is poverty, drugs, terrorism or guns, when the state declares war, rapid growth and expansion of that which is the object of that war is inevitable.

Napolitano stated, "70% of the weapons in the hands of the drug cartels are coming from the US." The implication is obvious she is referring to private gun owners. The MSM sucks up this propaganda like a large-mouth bass takes a worm, and regurgitates it to Boobus without ever questioning the truthfulness behind the claim. Neither Mexican, nor US officials, has ever produced an ounce of proof to back up these wild accusations.

Wednesday, on MSNBC, in an interview by Andrea Mitchell, New York Congressional Representative, Nita Lowey stated 97% of the guns in the hands of the Mexican drug cartels originated in the US. Representative Lowey, in her support for a new Assault Weapons Ban, alleges these firearms are coming from the American gun owner. She is correct in her assertion many of the firearms being used by the cartels are coming from Americans. They are, but, from the American taxpayer, not the American gun owner!

The fact is: the Mexican authorities have refused to release the serial numbers of weapons confiscated from drug cartel members. Releasing the serial numbers would implicate the corrupt governments of the US and Mexico and their involvement in arming the drug cartels.

Considering the above, it is my belief the Mexican drug cartels are procuring a large percentage of weapons from the world’s largest supplier of these weapons: the United States government!

The type of weapons confiscated and the unwillingness of those involved to supply weapon serial numbers is a clear indicator.

Because of the "narco-wars," the US government supplies the Mexican military with arms and training. The Mexican military has trained at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, and the arms budget from the US to Mexico is in the billions.

Drug profits realized from the sale of drugs in the US by Mexico’s violent drug cartels are estimated to be as high as 40 billion dollars per year. With that amount of money, is there any question as to the ability of the cartels to purchase military weapons provided by the United States government from corrupt Mexican government officials and members of their military?

In the mid 1990s, U.S. government statistics revealed at least six billion dollars a year was spent by the cartels in bribes and payoffs to officials in the Mexican government and military.

In February of 1997, the Clinton Administration announced it was certifying the Mexican government as a "full ally" in the war on drugs. Clinton’s Drug Czar, Army General Barry McCaffrey, described Mexican General Jesus Gutierrez Rebollo, who headed up the Mexican National Institute to Combat Drugs (INCD) as a "man of absolute unquestioned character."(Emphasis added) Shortly after McCaffrey’s statement, Rebollo was arrested for taking bribes from one of the largest drug cartels in Mexico. Rebollo had been present at secret meetings involving the White House, the Central Intelligence Agency and the Drug Enforcement Agency.

When speaking of drug cartels and military weapons, one would be remiss in not covering the involvement of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and their decades-long involvement in worldwide drug trafficking. The evidence produced at the Iran Contra hearings proved the CIA was involved with smuggling cocaine in order to fund the Nicaraguan Contra Army. Is there any question they are involved with the Mexican drug cartels and perhaps facilitating their procurement of military weapons, or better yet, trading arms for drugs?

In 2007, then President George W. Bush, with help from Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, was able to get legislation passed that would provide Mexico with at least 1.4 billion dollars for Mexican military and police forces.

In May of 2008, Kristen Bricker wrote of Plan Mexico, "Plan Mexico will provide resources, equipment, and training to the Mexican government, police, and military. It will not give Mexico liquid funds. The US military, government agencies such as USAID, and US defense contractors such as mercenary firms and weapons manufacturers will receive funding to carry out Plan Mexico. Plan Mexico is yet another bill to line the pockets of the military industrial complex."

Our government is certainly aware of the rampant corruption within the Mexican government and military, yet we continue to provide them with money, military weapons and training, including all of the military weapons mentioned earlier in this article and shown in film clips by the mainstream media as proof positive we need a new Assault Weapons Ban. (AWB)

Our corrupt government, cooperating with Mexico’s equally corrupt government, has embarked on a campaign to deprive American citizens of the means to defend ourselves from tyranny, screening their own involvement in arming violent criminal drug cartels. We can weakly submit, or stand for truth and liberty; the choice is ours.

Plan Mexico sure sounds a lot like U.S. foreign policy in El Salvador in the 1980s, doesn't it? Yeah, we all know what a huge success that turned out to be. And didn't the Reagan administration claim to have "evidence" that the Nicaraguans (after they ousted the U.S. backed Somoza family) were supplying El Salvadorean rebels with arms? It never materialized, but the reactionary plan did. Whatever happened to all the Death Squads and their leaders? If I recall correctly, 1984 was the green light year for the "secret" CIA mines in the harbor and Ollie's "secret" drugs-for-Israeli gun running operations, "secret" mercenary Contra training camps in Florida, illegal permanent air strips built in Guatemala, and oh yeah, who can forget the CIA's revolutionary training manual (in Spanish) that included such innovative ideas as "how to murder elected public officials."

And in other news which is in no way connected to CIA coups, what can we possibly hope to expect from the Czech Republic's upcoming vote on the "failed" Lisbon Treaty? I need to find the time to study what just happened there. When I read the government fell after a no-confidence vote, I assumed Klaus had been fired too. But noooo, he's still their President and he's still the President of the EU. The only national president in the world who has spoken out against the EU's communitarian legal system is still in office, and now the U.S. has to find someplace else to put their Radar. Maybe Mexico will let us put it down there.

There are a few people I know on facebook who keep me up to date on a lot of things. Thanks to Gigi for this one: Text of H.R. 1388: Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h111-1388

Straw advances constitutional 'quiet revolution'

Over 10,000 readers have visited my "Quiet Revolution" article at the ACL which was linked from rense.com yesterday morning. Whereas normally I get from 20 to 100 emails after my articles are published at rense and nwvs, this one has generated only one response from a stranger. So much for opening up a public debate about community policing and COMPASS.

Here's a good example of what passes for "public debate" in America these days: http://www.infowars.com/senate-rubber-stamps-national-enslavement-bill/. This article warns us about all the new legislation that will establish a civilian defense force. "One such program has seen hundreds of police, firefighters, paramedics and utility workers recently trained and dispatched as “Terrorism Liaison Officers” in Colorado, Arizona and California to watch for “suspicious activity” which is later fed into a secret government database." I just love how Watson neglects to explain how all these programs have already been implemented in community economic revitalization and sustainable development, how our citizen's information is gathered via COMPASS & ABCD mapping, (or the program's directors role in creating Obama). The COPS' COMPASS database and Obama's guru is a "secret." Shhhhh.

In the UK, the "quiet revolution" isn't so quiet.

Straw advances constitutional 'quiet revolution'

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/14/20090323/tpl-straw-advances-constitutional-quiet-81c5b50.html

Jack Straw sought to continue the government's "quiet revolution" in constitutional arrangements today as he published a green paper on rights and responsibilities.

The justice secretary wants to develop a full British Bill Of Rights and duties "as a step towards a written constitution" and today's green paper is designed to act as a framework for debate on that goal.

"If by the end of the process the Bill is perceived to provide protection to rights and freedoms then it will become effective in defining common values so that people in Britain of different backgrounds may feel ownership of it," he told the Commons.

Mr Straw said Britain's incremental constitutional development made it distinctive from other nations and argued a "similar unifying force" would be desirable in Britain.

The Bill would explicitly outline the responsibilities which go with the rights of citizenship and by so doing become "emblematic of the fair society we want to live in".

Among the responsibilities named are paying taxes, obeying the law, reporting crimes, voting, jury service and "treating NHS and other public sector staff with respect".

Mr Straw stopped short of saying the Bill would have the force of law, however, claiming that "even without full legal enforcement words have power".

Shadow justice secretary Dominic Grieve focused his criticisms on the Human Rights Act 2000, which the Conservatives had opposed at second reading but backed at third reading.

He said the opposition's concerns had been confirmed since then and warned today's green paper "can only really make matters worse".

Mr Grieve added: "It will not result in any legislation this side of the next general election – in other words, it's for the birds."

The justice secretary replied by saying Mr Grieve "protests too much", claiming the Tory supported most measures in the bill.

Fourteen months have passed since Gordon Brown, in one of his first acts in No 10, called for a "sustained debate" on the development of a Bill of Rights and Duties".

Mr Grieve said the green paper outlining the government's proposals had taken so long in coming because it had been repeatedly "scuppered" by Mr Straw's ministerial colleagues.

You and I Can't Buy the Guns Mexican Cartels Own
The Administration is Not Dealing Straight With Us on Mexico's Gun Problem

Let's set things straight right up front. Yes, some guns are being smuggled into Mexico from the U.S. Most are handguns. But, handguns are being illegally trafficked from state to state and from the U.S. to Canada. It should come as no surprise that guns are smuggled into Mexico. But, the problem being portrayed by the U.S. media and our government is not as it seems. You see, Mexico doesn't allow ownership of most firearms, so ordinary Mexican people seeking self-protection will find a way to get them into Mexico. As for the drug cartels operating in the border towns along the U.S., they have other sources for their weapons and have become the prime supplier within Mexico.

I worked in Mexico in a border town for about five years. It was far enough from San Diego County in the Sonora Desert of Mexico that commuting several hundred miles daily was impossible. So, for a few years I lived in the city and commuted home periodically on some weekends. As crime grew out of control, I eventually moved into a place on the U.S. side and commuted daily in and out of Mexico for my own safety.

I stayed in Mexico for a Mexican holiday my first year. I don't recall the holiday. Normally, I would leave Mexico for a holiday, but it was in the middle of the week and one day was not long enough to come home. All I know is that on that particular Mexican holiday, Mexicans love to fire guns into the air. That evening as I sat on the balcony of my hotel, the gun fire that erupted in celebration was quite unbelievable. It was so intense I backed off the balcony and watched the festivities from a couple three feet in the room. We're talking war-like firing of weapons, it was that intense.

As I listened that night to the gun fire, I was somewhat shocked at the amount of fully automatic gun fire. It wasn't sporadic. It was continuous throughout the city. For a country that bans guns I thought, how in the world did they get their hands on all these full-auto weapons? Clearly what sounded like M16 fire was prolific along with 7.62 x 39 AK autos with a smattering of smaller caliber full-autos, most likely 9mm. Gun fire can be heard in most American cities on New Years, but I've never heard full-auto weapons being fired, at least not in the San Diego area.

The next day I went into work and sat down with a trusted senior Mexican manager. I looked at him and said, "I thought guns were illegal in Mexico." He chuckled and said, "So you stayed in town last night?" As the conversation progressed, it became clear that guns are as common in Mexico as tamales at Christmas. Everyone he knows, including himself, own at least one gun. And, it matters not whether it's a semi-auto or fully automatic, they're all illegal, so why stop with semi-autos? Though clearly illegal in the states in most instances, a lot of Mexicans have more firepower in terms of military weapons than we can only dream of owning here.

As time went on, parties in the city at middle class Mexican homes become a way of life. Most Mexican managers in the plant knew I was a gun wonk. As it turns out, they couldn't wait to invite me over to their place on a Friday night to show me their collection. Semi-autos, some very high-end Sigs and other European handguns were not uncommon along with piles of old revolvers. I thought I had seen everything in the states, but in Mexico it's not uncommon for people to own full-auto military rifles. Everything from an M16, UZI machine pistols and the most popular, select-fire AK47 military rifles. These are not the so-called "assault weapons" you can buy at the local gun shop in the U.S., but full select-fire military-issue rifles. Now, I know you want to know and are dying to ask; Did I see any U.S. military-issue weapons stolen from the U.S. military? Not a single one was marked with U.S. military markings. Everything was marked with additional foreign markings on the receiver, including M16 rifles, or they had nothing at all. I saw firearms manufactured in Europe, China, Russia and South America along with U.S. manufactured weapons. I saw rifles that looked familiar with no place of manufacture, no serial number or manufacturer's logo. The information was not removed, it was never there to begin with. I can only assume they came from illegal arms manufacturers in India or Pakistan that produce copies of weapons. It was obvious that none of these firearms came from a U.S. gun shop in Tucson or San Diego. You couldn't buy them from a gun shop in the states if you tried.

It seems Mexicans have a rich heritage of firearms ownership prior to the ban in 1968. Despite the laws against owning them, they ignore it. Most Mexicans will say they need it for personal protection of themselves and their family. The other reason is they don't trust the government or local law enforcement. If they have to use it in their home for self-defense, whether they end up in jail is all dependent on how much money they can come up with, or who they know in the government. It also depends on who they shoot. But, given the alternative with high crime rates, most middle class Mexicans willingly and without reservations take the risk. Despite being able to own .22 caliber pistols or rifles, Mexican law requires them to be stored at an approved firing range. Where's the firing range I asked many times? No one knew of one. Where's the gun stores in town to buy legal guns? Gun stores? No one ever recalled seeing one anywhere in Mexico, let alone their city. I'm sure somewhere, maybe in Mexico City you might be able to buy a gun, but not in this city of almost 1.5 million residents. And the gun traffickers know it.

Where do ordinary Mexicans get their weapons? Most buy them from a 'friend' or a friend of a friend or cousin or uncle. Where the friend gets them is not talked about. But, it seems that drug cartels in Mexico are heavily involved in gun trafficking of military weapons and related hardware. And, who are these ordinary Mexicans? They range from people who work in factories as managers and senior managers, government workers, doctors, dentists and anyone with the financial means to buy a firearm. I even ran into a couple of government bureaucrats, one a lawyer for the federal government who owns firearms. He confirmed that people he knew in the government, some very highly ranked bureaucrats and politicians all own illegal firearms. The other works for the Mexican equivalent of the IRS. It's a way of life in Mexico. It seemed to me that you aren't in the 'in-crowd' in Mexico unless you own at least one firearm. I was amazed at the whole thing after believing for years that gun ownership in Mexico was non-existent. That is hardly the case.

All this flies in the face of news articles published by the U.S. media in the last week or two. Mexico's gun problems are a direct result of gun runners buying "assault weapons" in the U.S. and taking them into Mexico to arm drug cartels, says the U.S. media and government. That is a bunch of government and media nonsense. The cartels aren't arming themselves from U.S. gun stores with semi-auto AR15 and AK47 rifles. They've moved on up. Not to completely dismiss arms moving into Mexico from the U.S., but it is not as it seems when the U.S. media tells the story. The firearms moving across the border are semi-auto rifles and handguns sold to middle class or wealthy Mexicans seeking personal protection from criminals that have no connections in Mexico with gun runners. For the most part the wealthy in Mexico are targets of criminal elements, so they have no intention of connecting up with them to buy a self-defense firearm. You're better off buying a weapon from someone within the Mexican government than buying it from the criminal element, namely a drug cartel.

Cartels buy their arms from countries around the world, most any place where military weapons can be purchased on the black market, or from countries wishing to destabilize North America. They arm themselves from a worldwide black market of full auto military weapons including grenades, land mines and RPGs. They also "procure" their weapons from the less than savory from within the Mexican military.

The drug cartels can easily afford to fly their weaponry into Mexico using their own fleet of aircraft on to remote airfields, or land them on remote Mexican shores from their fleet of vessels. They do it with drugs all of the time. Drug cartels buying semi-auto AR15 or AK rifles from U.S. gun dealers is viewed as a joke by Mexico's drug cartel, most Mexicans, and unfortunately by the Mexican government. The only people fooled by all the political rhetoric are Americans listening to the likes of Attorney General Eric Holder and other anti-gun politicians.

Mexico has a gun problem, just like they have a drug problem and both the U.S. and Mexican governments are trying to place the blame on U.S. gun owners. U.S. gun owners aren't the problem. Mexico is the problem. The government is corrupt from the lowest level law enforcement officer shaking down American tourists for traffic violations, to officials and politicians highly placed within the Mexican government, including elements within the military. Everyone knows it. Everyone in Mexico knows it. Every law enforcement official in the U.S. knows it, and everyone in our government knows it. And anyone who has worked for any length of time within border cities and lived in the local community knows it. This is taking a Mexican problem, blaming the U.S. by turning it into a crisis in order further an agenda, and Eric Holder and President Obama knows it and they are taking advantage of it.

The next time you see a news report of illegal full-auto weapons and grenades being found here in the U.S., you know where they came from. It wasn't from a gun store in Tucson or Phoenix. The administration is right that gun trafficking along the U.S./Mexico border is a problem. Not only do we have drugs and illegal aliens coming in our southern border, but we also have military arms and explosives coming into our country illegally as well. That's the issue and our government is being disingenuous in its argument.

This AP news report published today is typical of what is going on. It is disgustingly biased and flat wrong: AP report for Detroit Free Press

Don't believe me and what I say? See what the Latin American Herald is saying about a recent arrest of cartel members and their weaponry in Mexico. No, the items listed weren't purchased at a gun store in Phoenix or Tucson. Grenades and RPGs are illegal in the U.S.: LAH Story

First responses to "Join the Quiet Revolution"

I enjoyed your article up until the very end
where you suggest
"We could start this by taking back our communities, one police station at a time.
"THE COMMUNITY POLICING ADVISORY COUNCIL: The advisory council is composed of community leaders representing many different segments of the population. This group meets monthly with the Chief of Police and occasionally other staff members, to provide unfiltered input from the community to police management. This direct interaction between the police and the community facilitates the building of partnerships and provides a community perspective on department policy and procedures." http://www.ci.santa-maria.ca.us/40453.html "
Those kind of "council" meetings have failed miserably in our community. They are conducted as facility dialectic meetings and nobody's input is ever acted upon.
You have described the problem, but your prescription looks like just more of the problem.
Thank you

Israeli Army T-Shirts Mock Gaza Killings by Dominic Waghorn

One of the things that came out during my COPS' research was the numerous mainstream media accounts of new joint training exercises since 9/11 between US domestic law enforcement officers and the Israeli military. Our local American police go on maneuvers now in joint military - cops urban warfare training, because Israel is being sold to our leaders by Jinsa as the "Harvard of anti-terrorism." One report explained how Israeli snipers were training US cops to shoot suspects in the head. Now I have to wonder if they didn't also train them to shoot pregnant women in the stomach. (This reminds me way too much of Charlie Manson and Susan Atkins.)

All the more reason why American locals need to start going to community police /emergency preparedness meetings and take control of their local police force. COPS also had a program called Troops More which provided a 5k bonus to local governments for every new COP hired with two years prior military service. All US Park Service fire spotters up in the towers are sniper trained too. And the thing about snipers is they don't care who they shoot (although they oviously care very much where their bullets enter).

Community police are soldiers, they will obey whoever leads them. What local doesn't think they shouldn't have a seat on the committeee that decides what agenda these soldiers enforce? Call your local police station and ask where and when the Homeland Security citizen advisory group meets. Bring everyone you know to the next meeting, and leave your weapons in your trucks. Plan on having a nice friendly game of chess with your boys in blue. Whatever you do, don't wear these T-shirts, or they'll think you're in some kind of sick wacko terrorist organization.

As Joseph Farah at World Net Daily knows, as long as "patriot" Americans can be convinced to arm themselves in preparation of the coming "civil unrest" it may never even occur to them that there may be another, less violent, more productive solution.

In an email forward from Townhall Spotlight (unlike Myer's, this is an elist I never signed up for) we get a glimpse into the way the leading right wing con men are leading their flock:
Dear Reader,

The next four years may prove to be a turning point for all freedom loving Americans.

With the new administration holding party majorities in the House and Senate, we are facing the worst political environment for the passage of unchecked gun control legislation and further erosion of our constitutional right to bear arms than we have previously seen in our lifetimes.

As the nation creeps from recession to depression, the potential for civil unrest in every major city grows more likely. There has never been a more crucial time in our nation's history to make sure you are armed and trained for the protection of yourself and your family.

One man in our country knows this better than most, and I'm proud to tell you, he is doing something about it.

His name is Dr. Ignatius Piazza.

He is the Founder and Director of Front Sight Firearms Training Institute and is known by his hundreds of thousands of students as 'The Millionaire Patriot' because he has literally given away millions of dollars in free and discounted training to law abiding citizens to assist them is securing what he refers to as "The Comfort of Skill at Arms."

He is providing you with the opportunity to attend five days of world class training at his Front Sight Firearms Training Institute with everything you need to secure permits to carry a concealed handgun in over 30 states—all for pennies-on-the-dollar!

Plus, if you act quickly before all the guns he set aside are gone, he will give you, free of charge, a Springfield Armory XD Pistol in your choice of 9mm, .40SW, or .45ACP!

That's right. This is legitimate. Thousands of people have already taken advantage of it AND YOU SHOULD TOO!

I can personally vouch for Dr. Piazza and his Front Sight Firearms Training Institute.

I believe now more than ever before that EVERY American should be armed and trained to the highest levels possible—levels that exceed law enforcement and military standards. Take advantage of the Millionaire Patriot's offer. Get armed and trained to prepare for what may be coming in the next four years!

NOW is the time to get armed and trained. Don't wait until it is too late.

Click for more details about the Millionaire Patriot's amazing offer.

Sincerely,

Joseph Farah

P.S., You have never seen me make such a personal endorsement, so take heed to the fact that I am telling you to take advantage of Dr. Piazza's offer to get five days of world class training at Front Sight, concealed weapon permits good in 30 states, and a FREE Springfield Armory XD Pistol.
Is Farah absolutely positive he wants us to "exceed" law enforcement and military standards? What targets does Mr. Farah suggest we use? What standards can he possibly mean? And I can't believe people are buying into this hype. Isn't the very meaning of their word Patriot someone who understands how their own government operates?

Here's Farah's idea of reading "between the lines." All he does is inflame the situation and neglects to dig any further into the "other government agencies" participating in fusion centers. In fact, Mr. Farah doesn't provide ANY new or relevant information and he closes his dire warning with the official Bush Administration's non-negotiable theory of the 9/11 conspiracy :
